The average median income of users on Instagram is 70K! It's no surprise it's great to attract new clients. There is an audience for EVERYONE on Instagram as well; you just have to dig deep into those hashtags.
A few of my favorite Instagram tips!
A silent account is the same as an inactive one. You need to engage with your audience. If you have a private page, people cannot find you EVEN if you use hashtags. BAD for business. Do not ever use the following hashtags #f4f #followforfollow #followforfollowback #followback or anything along those lines, you will get bombarded with accounts that are irrelevant to your industry.
Twitter social media tips
Business, Business, Business! If you are or if your audience is a business, Twitter can be a real money maker! Entrepreneurs, Business owners, CEO's, Writers, Marketers, lots of tips, lots of information. A quick way to engage with potential clients. #twitterchats Joining a #twitterchat is an amazing way to gain exposure. (Just search for the hashtag #Twitterchat to find upcoming chats).
Some more Twitter tips
You need a profile photo! No one wants to see "The Egg." Yes, Twitter's default profile picture for individuals who do not upload a photo is a colorful EGG! That's going to get you business, real quick ;).
Read your Twitter messages. Unfortunately, a lot of people use automated responses for Twitter messages. It's a generic "Thank you for the follow....." message, your inbox will get filled with these, but you still need to read every single message because you may just miss out on a lead. It happened to me, true story, but I learned!
EVERYONE is on Facebook and this is the first place potential consumers will look.
Best for paid advertising. Facebook has more reach on paid advertising than Google, Bing, LinkedIn Ads and more. Organic reach is harder on Facebook; this is where paid ads come in! Don't get too comfortable! Algorithm changes faster than most of us blink!
A few more Facebook tips!
Use two hashtags per posts on Facebook. Although Facebook makes us pay for BIG traffic, there are ways to be discovered and found. Hashtags are far from being the only way, but it's easy and FREE.
Create a Facebook group for your business. Offer free value and tips. Don't create a group to start pitching your services. People will come to you if they need you. Focus on offering value, engage with your group, encourage participation and don't be too focused on group rules. Many groups have group rules, and yes if you run a large group it can be useful. But balance is everything. I once joined a group of entrepreneurs, forgot to Introduce myself (it was mandatory for that particular group), and then I got tagged in a public post by the admin telling me I had 24 hours to introduce myself before I would be removed. I happily left. Learning SHOULD be fun!
Are teens and young adults your target audience? Your company needs to be on Snapchat, that's all!
I don't personally use Snapchat because it doesn't fall in my client demographic. But one of my clients regularly broadcasts on it since she sells clutches and purses with a target audience of teens. It's a perfect platform for her.
Workopolis, what's what? LinkedIn has become the number one place employers look for qualified and suitable candidates. Everyone should be on LinkedIn. If you are a business, you can create a business page. Both entrepreneurs and job seekers, create a fully optimized profile.
A few LinkedIn tips:
Profile picture has to be clear but does not have to be a business photo. The photo has to represent you. When people hire you, they often hire you because you are the right fit rather than having the right skills.
Every business should publish on LinkedIn. Sharing is caring, share articles written by others that you find interesting.
Interactions aren't quickly forgotten on LinkedIn. Getting followed, or a like on LinkedIn has much more monetary value that an Instagram like. People on LinkedIn likely will follow you because of what you bring to the table as opposed to following you because they like the photos you share. (Food for thought).
SEO, SEO, SEO, the quickest way to start optimizing your website is practicing SEO optimization. Ensure that you research relevant keywords and they appear at least four to five times in your articles or blogs, you do not need to overdo it. Search engines are smart, and good quality keywords will go a long way as opposed to overusing. Once in your title, once in your subheading and three more times in your copy. Ensure that your images contain ALT-TEXT and that it is relevant to your keywords. This is possibly one of my favorite SEO tips. Ensure that you have a Sitemap.
There is so much more that goes into SEO, but I wanted to share these quick and easy tips with you all!
That's it for my quick round-up of social media tips!
