Give a Glimpse Into Your Brand or Product

Videos are a great way to show off what you're all about and what makes you unique. These types of videos can include short product demos, tutorials, behind-the-scenes footage, and more. If you already have short videos that you share on other platforms, you can also repurpose them on Pinterest.

You'll want to ensure that you use an original video. If you do not have the original anymore, use a program like inflact.com to remove the watermark from the other platform before publishing it to Pinterest.

Important: Since 2022, it's been observed that many creators repurpose their TikTok videos to Pinterest. They share their videos that include trending audio from other platforms like TikTok or even Instagram Reels.

As a brand, it's important for you to know that licensed audio on one platform may not be licensed for use on another platform. To avoid copyright issues,

I recommend that if you repurpose videos, they must be with your own original audio (talking videos) like this one, or audio where you have purchased usage rights. In fact, Pinterest has its own music library available via the mobile app.

Another helpful tip is to share content that serves potential clients or readers at various stages of their journey, including the awareness stage. Awareness stage content tends to do really well on the platform and has helped my client grow their traffic from just under 500 outbound clicks per month to, 10,000 and up.

Here are some great awareness stage content ideas.

Brand Story Videos

Create videos that tell the story of your brand. Share the history of your business, your values, and your mission. This helps potential customers understand what your brand stands for and what makes it unique. Talk about what life was before your business and how you came about with the idea.

Explainer Videos

Create videos that explain your product or service in a clear and concise manner. These videos can help potential customers understand how your product works, what it does, and how it can solve their problems. Use simple language and avoid industry jargon. As business owners, we typically understand our own industry jargon, some of our clients may do so as well, but we need to try to be as accessible as possible.

Educational Videos

Create videos that educate potential customers about one specific problem that your company solves and teach them one simple concept. For example, if you are a dog trainer, share a common behavioral problem, and educate your audience on how they can fix or help this issue with a few tips. Sharing educational content doesn't take away from you generating leads. It helps build trust.

Show Brand Authority

Video marketing is a great way to build brand authority. By creating short, engaging videos, you can help keep users on your various platforms and inform them about what your brand is all about.

Additionally, videos can help you rank higher in search engine results, which can help you attract even more traffic & leads to your website.

In order to create successful video content, you'll need to make sure that your videos are high quality and interesting to watch. You'll also need to make sure that your videos are properly optimized for Pinterest.

In order to do this, you'll need to include a keyword-rich title, a detailed description, and relevant keywords in the pin description. Ideally, your videos on Pinterest would be vertical, if that's not possible add your video or any format to a vertical graphic background.

You can easily do this in Canva, Adobe, or Filmora. When sharing your video pin to Pinterest, you’ll also want to add relevant tags. Note: Standard pins can be in the form of videos or graphics.

When You Hear the Term High-Quality Video, What Does it Mean?

Whether we are referring to short videos on Pinterest or long vlogs on YouTube, the quality of our videos matters. The reality is that we don't all have video equipment or a place in our home with great natural lighting. What can we do to ensure that our videos are of the highest quality possible, even with no equipment or natural lighting?

  • If you are recording short tutorials for your audience, see if you can record them outside for better lighting.

  • If you prefer not to be on camera, record voice-over videos on top of stunning product imagery.

  • You can animate your graphics in your design tools to download as an MP4 file. Make sure it's at least 4 seconds long, and you'll be able to share it on Pinterest as a video.

  • Try to use a program like Veed.io or Zubtitles to add captions to your videos.

Make a Plan For What to Share

When creating videos for Pinterest, it's important to have a plan and a schedule for what you'll be sharing. First, you want to identify your goal for sharing more short videos on Pinterest.

  • Are you looking to make more sales?

  • Perhaps you want to grow your visibility on the platform?

  • Are you looking for more blog readership?

  • Do you want to drive more awareness for your products and services?

  • All of the above?

As long as you know your goal, you'll have a better idea of the types of videos you need to create & share. Then, prepare your content in advance, it doesn't matter if it's an animated graphic or a video tutorial. You want to plan when you will post this content and stick to it.

Teaching a Full Concept on Pinterest is Best

In short, teaching a full concept on Pinterest means sharing complete steps. If you are teaching your audience how to build something, give them all the steps and tools. If you teach how to market a product, provide all the steps. If you are sharing tips and tricks, be as descriptive as possible.

The more you share, the better. Even if you cannot provide all the steps, the more information you share to allow the Pinterest user to know what to expect once they visit your website, the better.

What To Do if You Don’t Want to Be on Camera?

When we hear the term "video pins," it can be scary for those who do not wish to be seen on camera. If this is you, don't worry; you can still leverage videos on Pinterest.

Even if you create faceless content for Pinterest, you still need to optimize your content for search to ensure you get discovered. Think about other things you could do with your content to allow your audience to connect with you.

  • Use stock video footage from tools like Canva or Pexels. You can then use these videos as part of your designs.

B-roll footage is any footage that you have on your camera, such as short clips from your trips or quick video footage that you take when on a walk. These types of videos are easy to capture if you don't already have any.

  • Take any of the ideas above (stock videos or b-roll footage and add voice-over videos with apps such as InShot.
