How to Use the New Social Form Feature from Flodesk

If you're not already using Flodesk for your email marketing efforts, you're missing out! Flodesk is an intuitive marketing platform that provides various solutions for business owners such as email list management, sales opportunities with their checkout pages and, drumroll.... their new amazing "Social Form" feature. 

Take out your notebook, your iPad, or whatever it is you use and let's dive right in.

What Is a Social Form? 

A social form is a form that you would add to your bio on your various social media profiles allowing your audience members to sign up to receive updates and/or a lead magnet that you promote. A social form could also be used for the sale of various offers. 

I always recommend not to have any more than three to four items listed in your social form. A social form is also often referred to as your link in bio tool or links page. 

Some marketers recommend only having one link, some multiple, but I found the sweet spot is three to four since you are giving your audience options. You can provide free value all while also prompting some of your paid offers. 

This is a no-brainer since everyone in your audience is likely at a different journey stage. Some of them may be problem-aware, while others are curious about what it's like working with you, and they want a little glimpse of it (cue your freebie) to move further along the journey. 

1. To create your Flodesk Social Form, you would go to forms on the navigation and then click on New Form.

2. From there, you will choose Social Form.

3. Below is what it looks like when you get started. Simply click on Customize It and you're good to go.

How to Edit Your Flodesk Social Form

Once you click on customize, you'll be prompted to choose a segment or create a new one. What I like doing is use a new segment so that I can track exactly how many subscribers come from this form. There are other ways, but this is a simple process.

You'll notice that you can toggle options off and on, such as your logo, link list, bio, etc. I highly recommend that you use the link list option so that you can direct your audience to your products and services. At this time, while this post is being written, there is no option to remove the email capture form at the top, and I am not mad about it.

Time and time again, I audit social media accounts for brands and entrepreneurs, and their lead capture form is nowhere to be found. In my opinion, that is a missed opportunity.

We should always be thinking about driving our social media audience away from our social media platforms and into our email list or our own website. 

Increase Your Form Conversion Rate with Personalized Calls-To-Action

According to Hubspot, personalized CTAs perform 202% better than standard ones. When writing captions on social media and when guiding your audience to take action in your videos, try personalized CTAs. 

Here are some examples that you can use

CTA 1:

If you'd like to [enter goal] by learning [enter solution] visit the link in my bio. 

Example: If you'd like to increase your website traffic by learning what works on Pinterest in 2023, visit the link in my bio. 

CTA 2: 

To discover the [enter product/solution] click the link in our profile to [enter action.]

Example: To discover the five best co-living spaces in Spain, click the link in our profile to read our latest blog. 

CTA 3:

Did you love this [enter what]? Visit our bio to subscribe today to be notified of future learning opportunities. 

Example: Did you love this training? Visit our bio to subscribe today to be notified of future learning opportunities. 

CTA 4:

Get [enter incentive] our [enter product] when you subscribe today! 

Example: Get 15% off our full-package services when you subscribe today! 

Be creative, and don't be afraid to test your CTAs to see what resonates the best with your audience. 

More Flodesk Social Form Tips

For the link list, you can add external URLs but don't be afraid to use a direct checkout link. Flodesk also allows you to create checkouts, including simple checkout forms, and once you set it all up, Flodesk will general a URL for you. Simply add that URL to one of your links.

You don't want to add too many links in your social form, and you can easily adjust how many you want to use. 

Another thing I love doing is duplicating the form in order to get a unique URL for various social media platforms. Flodesk also has amazing analytics showing you which forms perform the best and the conversion rates of specific forms. This is particularly useful if you want to try to replicate what's working well for future forms.
