Blog Post

If you write blog content, it's likely because you understand how effective it can be to take your readers on a journey, and it's also a great form of top-of-funnel content.

That's right, it's an opportunity to bridge the gap between where your readers are and where they want or need to be.

Blog content can serve as the foundation of your content strategy, just like video content can do the same for those who create long-form video content.

Get ready to take some notes because, in this blog post, I am sharing some easy content repurposing frameworks I use with my clients to help them save time and have their content seen by more people.

Why You Should Repurpose Blog Content

Writing high-quality blog content that also helps your SEO (search engine optimization) takes time, research, and, let's face it, you do it because you want to be helpful.

Each of the blog posts you write can be broken down, reformatted, and turned into completely new pieces of content for different platforms.

This is a process that will help you grow your reach and get more eyes on your business.

    It matters because:

    • You reach more people who prefer different content types. Everyone learns differently.

    • You get more visibility without reinventing the wheel.

    • You stay consistent without constantly creating yet another piece of content.

    • You build trust by repeating your core message in different ways in the format preferred by the users of various platforms.

Repurposing also gives your content a second chance at life. Some people may never find your blog post but might see your Instagram Reel, your Pinterest graphic, or read your LinkedIn newsletter.

How to Repurpose Blog Content for Instagram

Instagram is a great platform for storytelling. Since your blogs tend to be full of stories, insights, and tips, they can easily help you when repurposed into engaging content.

Here are some simple tips for repurposing blog content for Instagram:

    • Turn important points into a carousel. Use each slide to expand on each of the topics.

    • Create a mini tutorial or how-to Reel based on a specific blog section.

    • Share a quote or statistic from the blog as a graphic or a Reel.

    • Go on camera and summarize the blog post in a quick video story and share the link to the blog in the story.

    • Take one particular topic in your blog post and create a note-style carousel. (See example below)

Let's say your blog post is about time-saving tips for freelancers. Each tip could be its own carousel post. Or you could film yourself implementing your favorite tip and turn it into a Reel.

It's about using what you already wrote and giving it more life, all while catering to various learning styles, which also makes your content more accessible.

How to Share Blog Content on Pinterest

You've heard me say this before: Pinterest is not a social media platform; it's a visual discovery engine (a search engine), and it's a gold mine of traffic for bloggers.

I 100% believe that every brand that blogs or creates long-form content in other formats should be using Pinterest.

In addition to creating a Pinterest pin to promote your original blog content, here's how you can create more fresh pins.

Here's how to give your blog content more life on Pinterest:

    • Create 3 to 5 fresh pin designs per blog post. No, not to be shared at the same time, but scheduled various days apart.

    • Use different titles for each pin to test what gets more clicks. In the new variations of your titles, be sure to use different keywords and also incorporate trigger words.

    • If you have created short-form video content related to your blog post topic, share it on Pinterest. Just make sure you optimize your video first, such as adding captions if needed.

You can also repurpose a blog post and expand on the topic by creating a free checklist or a mini-guide. Promote the guide in your original blog post and also share the link directly on Pinterest.

Pinterest loves fresh content. But fresh doesn't always mean brand new. It can simply mean new creative such as new graphics, new copy, new videos, etc.
